The city of Bielefeld in Nordrhein Westphalen is not exactly one that many go to visit as a tourist destination, certainly it is better known for its large information technology companies. The gardens are a pleasant place to stroll at any time of year, and even as summer turns to autumn the visitor will be welcomed with a wash of color as the tall trees turn their leaves from green to various shades of browns, reds and orange. Those visiting the botanic garden can also snap a few photographs at the old timber house which adds a certain charm, as well as the alpine garden with its varieties of plants and shrubs.
