Not so long ago thanks to these "gifts", Insar was considered one of the most polluted rivers in Russia. Fortunately, the situation is gradually improving due to the environmental defense measures. Despite the fact that the main polluters of the environment have been and still are numerous motor transport- numerous enterprises are on the territory of the city, among them JSC "Saransk plant" Rezinotekhnika ", JSC" Biokhimik ", LLC" VKM-Steel "and others. All of them in one way or another affect the ecological situation in the city. The surroundings of the city are replete with deciduous forests, mostly oak forests. This is where the flowers and berries are roaming! In the rich undergrowth grows hazel, bird cherry and mountain ash, there are cherry and thorn bushes. Numerous lilies of the valley please the eye of anyone who finds himself or herself in the thicket in May. Not so often, but still you can find a lazurnel, listed in the Red Book, a lily-blossom belfry with beautiful white flowers, and iris-leafless pleases with bright purple flowers. But not only in the forests, you can admire the flowering of the remarkable representatives of the flora of Mordovia, in Saransk, there are wonderful parks where the inhabitants of the city and guests can enjoy the communication with wildlife.
