Geraldton has a number of interesting things to do and see. Head to the esplanade which has been recently refurbished to check out the walkway, chill with your friends and people watch the day away! There are areas for picnics and even bbqs, so you could in theory spend the day here relaxing! Once you have finished there head down to the trendy West End area of town. This is the place of boutiques, art stores and lots of cafes. If you want to learn a bit about history when in Geraldton then perhaps you should head to the Yamaji Art Centre, which specializes in aboriginal art and culture - this is a great place to learn more about the history and culture. Geraldton Museum is another place that will fill you with inspiration and take you through the sights and sounds of the city's past. The nearby beaches of Geraldton are another worthwhile place to explore and you can spend several hours there catching some rays or playing and swimming in the water. For floral attractions you will have to wait a while for the area to have a Botanic Garden- it has just been given the go ahead, but there are other flower attractions to be seen here. Until it is open, head off on some wildflower viewings instead. There are more than twelve thousand species alone in the area and there are lots of places to explore. In July to October you will see the best displays . Check out the Chapman River Regional Park which has more than three hundred different types of plants and flowers on display, or visit the Mills Point Lookout for its lovely displays of Hibbertia and Damperia flowers.
