Handa is packed with interesting sights, including several interesting museums and some beautiful shrines. The Mizkan Rice Vinegar museum is a must see if you are in Handa, as is the beautiful Nariha Shrine. Flower lovers will find plenty of interesting flora in the vicinity just a short drive away. Under an hour away from Handa lies Hofu with its interesting parks and festivals. The gardens of the Mori Museum are bursting with beautiful plants and flowers. The gardens are especially stunning in the autumn as the leaves on the many different types of trees and shrubs begin to change colour. In June, the annual hydrangea festival is held at the Amitabha Temple . Thousands upon thousands of beautiful hydrangeas of many different species and types are on display here and make for an amazing scene. An hour’s drive from Hofu lies Mount Hinoyama. Here, visitors to the summit will find the beautiful Hinoyama Park with its’ fabulous views and wonderful displays of flowers. In the spring, the park is awash with colour as the cherry blossoms and rhododendrons are in full bloom. The Tulip Garden here is home to over forty thousand wonderful tulips which, when in bloom, are a wonderful sight to behold for any flower lover.
