Sarnia is located in Ontario and has a lot of things to offer locals and the visitor alike, although the city is not often on anyone's travel itinerary. The city is located beside Lake Huron and all the lakeside attractions on offer. Aside from the usual waterfront attractions you would expect - kayaking, snorkeling and swimming - there is also a whole load of shipwrecks in the area just waiting to be explored if you can dive. It is well worth checking out. Afterward, spend your time in the mall or visit the Stones and Bones museum if you are interested in natural history. There is also an interesting art gallery here. For those who love the great outdoors but want to keep their feet on land, head to the Centennial Park near the waterfront. This is a great place to let the kids let of steam. Those on the lookout for wildflowers need not be disappointed either. Ontario wildflowers are on your doorstep. Head to Cantara Park which not only offers nice shaded picnic areas and a beachfront location - here you can check out hundreds of different types of wildflowers native to Ontario. This place is best visited in the spring through to the beginning of autumn. All of the usual flowers are on display here, these include alfalfa, bee balm and blazing star. These, amongst others such as the bloodroot and bur marigolds, can be seen all along the walking trails in the spring months and make for excellent photo opportunities. Don't forget to bring your camera with you when you are heading out on a wildflower trail in Sarnia and beyond - some of them do not bloom for very long so you will want to snap up a picture before they leave for another year!
