Vologda Blomsterlevering (blomsterhandler)

The ancient Russian city of Vologda is located relatively close to the capital of Russia-Moscow. Not more than five hundred kilometers separates the capital of Russia from the administrative and cultural center of the Vologda region. Despite its predominant administrative importance, Vologda is not the largest and most populous city in the Vologda region, giving the palm to Cherepovets. But Vologda from this only wins in terms of environmental conditions and the diversity of plant life in the vicinity of the city.
The population of Vologda is only 308 thousand people, which is not much less than the population of Cherepovets, but in industrial terms, the city is not so dubbed by all sorts of factories, like its western neighbor. The greatest share of air pollution accounts for the exhaust gases of quite numerous vehicles. Such enterprises as the Vologda CHPP, MUP Vologdagorteploset, the foundry and ZAO Vologda Bearing Plant are not lagging behind in this regard. It is especially unfortunate that the wastewater of industrial enterprises pollute the waters of the river Vologda, on whose banks the city is located. In addition to Vologda, near the city, there are small rivers — Lost, Zolotukh, Shogrash, and others.
The climate of the city is temperate continental, therefore winters are not excessively cold, and summers are moderately hot, although, of course, there are unfavorable weather conditions. This climate and neighborhood with the river have a stimulating effect on the plant world of the city and its environs.
Previously, numerous medicinal plants were harvested in the Vologda region, but the destructive impact of human activity painfully hit the flora of the region and many valuable species of plants simply disappeared, and most of the remaining ones are listed in the Red Book.
Nevertheless, in the surrounding forest areas near Vologda one can still meet such remarkable plants:
— Coppice blue with a delicate bluish flower. Currently, it is extremely rare, so the luck to see it falls not often
— A dream of grass or open chamber can be found in pine forests near Vologda. Often this plant is confused with snowdrops because of the amazingly beautiful white flowers and dig it out for commercial purposes;
— Calypso bulbous family of orchids, included in the Red Book, but still found in spruce forests near Vologda. It has attractive large purple flowers.
In the city, in numerous parks (Osanovskaya Grove, the Southern Grove, the Samarinsky Garden and others), as well as the squares of the city, ubiquitous dandelion is everywhere, timidly white chamomiles peep out, and the flower beds of the city abound with bushes of tea rose, tulips, peonies, and petunias. Vologda is especially beautiful in late spring and early summer.
