Fast fresh flower delivery in Greece. We send flowers by hand in Athens and 77 cities in Greece

Ancient Greeks believed that flowers had meanings, and some were even personal to the gods. Asters are said to be the tears of the sky goddess Astraea, and the pretty Christmas Rose helped to magically heal King Proetus’ daughters. The national flower of Greece is the bear’s breech, whose tall flower spikes can be found throughout Athens and the rest of the countryside. Beautiful in flower arrangements, the Greeks use them for both as fresh and dried flower bouquets. The capital city of Athens is also home to the Feast of Flowers, which takes place annually in May. Dating back to the worship of the goddess Demeter, it is a day of picnics and flower picking. Once the wildflowers have been woven into decorative wreaths, they gaily decorate doorways until the Feast of St. John when they are traditionally burned in the bonfire. Other flowers common to the Greeks include peonies and the “queen of the flowers” the rose. While the large heads of the sunflowers can be seen following the sun in the skies, here they are not sent as gestures of friendship and cheer. Instead, the sunflower represents loss and can often be seen growing close to cemeteries.
