INFOINFOINFOINFO

Sucre (literally, “sugar”) is the capital city of Bolivia. Despite this, Sucre is actually only the 6th most populated city in Bolivia. Sucre’s nickname is “La Ciudad de los Cuatro Nombres,” or “The City of Four Names.” This comes from the four names it has historically had: the first, Charcas, was the original name of the city. La Paz was the second name (which is now the name of a different city in Bolivia), Chuquisaca is the third name, and the last name is Sucre, named in honour of a famous marshal, Don Antonio Jose de Sucre. Sucre is also called “La Ciudad Blanca” or “The White City” because of the white paint on many of the buildings. Flowers in Sucre include a variety of roses, a variety of orchids, and a variety of heliconias and cantutas.
