Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic, and it is also the ancient capital of Bohemia. If this alone isn’t enough to peak tourists’ interest, the city is also home to a large museum district and beautiful historic architecture. One of the first sites that most visitors see is the Old Town Hall. Located in the Old Town Square, it was completed in 1338. The building also features the magnificent Astronomical Clock and Calendarium, it is the first time in over 400 years that they both have been working. Other sites include the Charles Bridge which is lined with the statues of 30 different saints, and the beautiful baroque style Church of St. Nicholas. Visitors to the capital can also visit the Prague Castle and surrounding complex which includes the All Saints Chapel, where two previous governors were accidentally thrown out off the window. Also included in the royal buildings are the gorgeous summer Imperial Gardens. During the warm summer months, visitors can tour the garden’s paths and see the stunning array of royal rose bushes. Tall spires of lavender and bright azaleas can also be seen blooming here, while the Prague Botanical Gardens give visitors a chance to see hundreds of rare and beautiful orchids. Other sections in the Botanical Gardens include Mexican themed succulents and the annual springtime blooming of the fragrant peony bushes. Some of the other must see Prague attractions include the spectacular butterfly gardens and the city zoo located next door. Everyone should eat a meal at one of Prague’s rooftop restaurants. Not only will visitors be able to see all of the pink hued spires of the churches, but also the pretty rooftop gardens that are popular among the city’s residents. You can also bring the scents and colors of the flower gardens indoors when you have a gorgeous floral arrangement delivered to almost any address in Prague.
