About 50 minutes from Tondabayashi is the Expo 70 Commemorative Park which is a splendid cherry blossom viewing spot in the spring months – the evenings are a great time to visit as the trees are dressed up with lights and look simply spectacular. Elsewhere, a mere thirty minute drive away from the city lies Tsurumi Ryokuchi Park, which is a former host of the International Greenery Exposition and boasts a huge array of tulips, vibrant azaleas and fragrant roses depending on the season.
