Located on the shores of the Baltic Sea, the capital city of Helsinki is also the largest city in northern Europe. One of the first attractions visitors should see in this historic city is the magnificent Suomenlinna Fortress. Constructed in the early 1700’s, the fort sits on top of 6 separate islands. Across from the fortress is Helsinki ‘s Market Square. Located in the historic center of the capital city, the square dates all the way back to the mid 1600’s. Tour the Presidential Palace and City Hall, and see the historic Helsinki Cathedral. Finland is also home to an open air museum. Located off of Helsinki, Museum Island Seurasaari is the biggest tourist attraction in the city. Visitors can see how Finnish traditions have changed through the years. With annual celebrations also held, it is a fun and educational experience for everyone. Another popular place for tourists to visit is Hientanemi Beach. While Helsinki winters might be cold, summers are warm and the local residents love to go swimming. Seurasaari also has a popular beach when the mainland becomes too crowded. Along with rides and games, Linnanmaki Amusement Park is also home to the annual Festival of Lights every October. Toolonlahti Bay is home to Helsinki’s largest park. Visitors can listen to the Finnish National Opera, and visit the Sports Museum and the Olympic Stadium. The historic and quaint wooden villas of Liinunlaulu are also located in the bay area. The beautiful winter gardens is what really brings visitors to the park. Throughout the four indoor garden rooms, visitors can see 100 year old camellia bushes, roses, and even palm trees. At Christmastime, the garden is filled with tulips, azaleas, and even fragrant lily of the valley, while Easter sees bright yellow and orange daffodils. We will deliver any of these and other beautiful floral arrangements to your requested address in Helsinki.
