Delhi is the world’s second largest city, and the metropolitan capital of India. While there is no way for visitors to see everything in one trip, there are some things that cannot be missed. One of the most recognizable buildings in Delhi is the Lotus Temple. With its 27 marble lotus petals, it is a stunning site. Other popular temples also include the Kalkaji Mandir Hindu Temple and the Hare Krishna Temple. Delhi is home to many ancient Mughal temples and buildings that many are not protected. One of the most popular of these is the Hauz Khas Complex. Among the ancient ruins are beautiful flower gardens and several shopping boutiques and upscale restaurants. Another example of ancient India blending into to modern society is the Lodi Gardens located near the Khan Market. Stop in the market for a carryout lunch, and picnic on top of the garden’s 500 year old Mughal ruins. Built almost 1,000 years ago, Qutub Minar stands nearly 72.5 meters tall. The tomb of Mughal emperor Humayun is located near Lodi Gardens and features a small museum along with the tombs of five other emperors. Roses are a favorite flower among the residents of Delhi, and are the star attraction at the Mughal gardens, along with the fragrant dwarf orange trees. The National Rose Garden is located in the Chanakya Puri district and some of the rarest varieties of roses in the world. December and January are the best times to visit the Rose Garden when all of the roses are in full bloom. No visit to Delhi is complete without a visit to the city’s zoo, where visitors can see rare white tigers among other native animals. While we can't deliver a cuddly zoo animal, we will happily deliver gorgeous floral bouquets that will remind you of India's sights and sounds to almost any address in Delhi.
