Roma or Rome is the capital of Italy and is also the home of the head of the Roman Catholic Church. For a walk back in time, visitors can follow the ancient Via Appia Antica. Beginning at the old Roman catacombs, the Roman highway is now a national park. Italians love flower gardens and green spaces, and nowhere is this more apparent than in Roma. One of the most spectacular gardens is the botanical garden donated to the city by the Corsini family in 1883. The lush gardens contain over 3,500 different plants and flowers, including the “Scent and Touch” garden established so the seeing impaired could still appreciate the beauty of the garden. Rose lover will delight in the Roseto Garden. Open for only a few months a year, visitors can see and smell some of the most amazing collection of roses. With new rose varieties being added annually, the garden is constantly changing to delight and amaze visitors every year.
