Ajax in Canada is a town that seldom features on anyone's radar in terms of planning a tourist itinerary. Ajax is largely suburban, with houses, schools and parks and is a favorite spot for those who want to work in Toronto but are fed up with big city life and want to escape. Of course, this means it is well located to explore Downtown Toronto, and accommodation is cheaper too! Use Ajax as a base to check out Toronto's best sights, including of course the CN Tower. The St Lawrence Food Market is another favorite hot spot - Nat Geo in fact once called it the best food market in the world. Come here to try weird and wonderful local foods and pick up fresh cut flowers, fruit and vegetables. If you are on the lookout for some greenery then Trinity Bellwoods Park is a good place to start and offers visitors a peaceful place for a stroll or perhaps even the chance to stop and have a picnic. If you are on the lookout for flowers in Toronto then head to the Toronto Botanical Garden. This isn't the biggest Botanic Garden we have ever seen, however it is one of the best. The gardens are an oasis in the city and span over four acres. Check out the woodland walk which will take you through a bunch of native wildflower trails. There is a section dedicated also to native grasses and shrubs, as well as a lovely meadow with native plants and greens. There are wonderful manicured lawns and hedges and formal flowerbeds. The Botanic Gardens also put on flower growing workshops throughout the year so you can try your hand at learning how to grow some of Canada's native flowers back home when you return! Check it out!
