The pleasant city Sherbrooke lies at the meeting point of two rivers and offers plenty to do for those visiting and living in the area. With a couple of good museums including a Fine Art’s and a Nature museum, as well as an interesting armoury, Sherbrooke will satisfy those curious about the area’s culture and history. Others prefer to visit the old Winter Prison or travel just out of town to see the Windsor Powder Mill. If you prefer to spend your time in the great outdoors then head to Mont Bellevue Park for a walk along the trails. With beautiful displays of wildflowers in the spring and autumn, this is a favourite place for locals and visitors alike to relax and enjoy the fresh air. Along the country roads around Sherbrooke you will be rewarded with beautiful fields of lavender as you drive around the countryside. And don’t forget - from Sherbrooke you are also only 1 ½ hours’ drive from the attractions that Montreal has to offer, including the splendid Botanic Gardens. Boasting a whopping ten greenhouses and conservatories, the gardens are a wonderful place to explore. There are over 20,000 different species of plants here, Chinese and Japanese Gardens, and a splendid Rose Garden. To purchase some locally grown flowers, head to Marche Atwater, and for a stroll in a more informal garden head to Parc Maisonneuve.
