Oberhausen lies in northwest Germany's ruhr area. The city is famous for the International Short Film Festival which has been around for ages and holds an International Competition annually making it one of the major international platforms for short films. Around the year, it’s always a good idea to visit the Gasometer Oberhausen, a former gas-storage facility that's been effectively established into an exhibition space or the LVR Industrial Museum which a reminder of the city's manufacturing past. The Botanical Garden has existed since 1890 and was established by the Duisern Beautification Association as a natural park . Today the garden displays an impressive variety of alpinum within an alpine forest and a heath garden. There’s also a large pond that contains with goldfish and water lilies. The main botanical experience however, can be found at the pharmacy garden with its medicinal and aromatic plants and a natural rose bedsand. There is also a variety of redwoods or ginkgos present.
The park is also known to host art events and concerts which will definitely make a visit totally worth it.
