Chikushino Fiori Fiorista

Chikushino-shi is in the Fukuoka Prefecture in Japan. Temples in this city have been harbouring beautiful wisterias for years such as the Buzo-Ji Temple and the Musashi Temple. Both temples are holding festivals annually in honor of these flowers. The Futsukaichi Onsen Wisteria Festival is held at the Buzo-Ji Temple where the wisterias area said to be hundreds of years old. That wouldn’t be surprising since the temple is the oldest in the region and the fact that wisterias take so long to flower.
Wisterias are climbing flowers native to the United States, Japan, and China. Tea ceremonies and stalls selling local products are a part of the event. The one held at the Musashi Temple happens every April 29th where young girls dress in colorful kimonos as a part of the occasion. They stretch up to 32 ft in total and up to 10 ft in a year. The oldest known wisteria vines have been in existence since 1894. Camellias are also abundant in Chikushino. They are said to be the most common ingredient in black, green, and oolong teas. They come in white, purple and yellow among others. Salvia splendens or tropical sage are small red flowers. These dwarf flowers were named in 1822.
