The ruins of Kasugayama Castle are found in Joetsu, as is the enchanting Takada Castle and surrounding parkland. Situated in Takada Park and taking place each summer, the festival sees the castle moat stuffed full of beautiful lotus flowers and is a joy to attend. Nagano city itself is dotted with flowers all around – beautiful trailing wisteria, fragrant lavender displays and gorgeous lilies offer a feast for the senses, and if you take a trip up into the hills you will also be rewarded with fresh mountain flowers on display throughout the summer period.
