Kasugai Fiori Fiorista

In the middle of the Yamanashi Prefecture, in the middle of April, each year in Kasugai you can witness some of the most beautiful peach flower blossoms in all of Japan. Take the cycling path to ride along beside the peach trees and smell the fragrance as you ride past. The peach blossoms are a lovely shade of pink, which creates a field of flower blossoms with a backdrop of Mt Fuji to make the whole vista look like a postcard.
This area produces the most peaches in the country. Looms are seen in April, so return in the middle of July to the middle of August to taste the delicious fresh picked peaches.
Ironically, a favourite candy in Japan is called Kasugai Flower Kiss Hard Candy. The ironic part is that the candy is flavoured with apricots and plums, mixed with sweetened condensed milk. The candies are a lovely, sweet, creamy fruity flavour with a touch of a flowery taste, but they are definitely not peach flavoured, like one would think because they are named after the peach capital of Japan, Kasugai. The candies are shipped all over the world, but they are still a specific treat in Japan.
