Situated just to the north of Tokyo, Kawaguchi is a traditional commuter area and as such does not have a lot of tourist attractions, however there are a lot of shopping malls. It is however a great base for those looking to explore the wider Tokyo area and has excellent public transport connections. In nearby Meguro for you can take a walk along the gorgeous riverbank during cherry blossom season. Elsewhere in town you will find the Meguro Sky Garden where you can take in not only the building but also the peaceful gardens around it, including some plants and flowers. Kawaguchi is also within easy reach of Shinagawa - this peaceful part of the Tokyo area is a treat for flower lovers all year long but is particularly enchanting in the spring when the cherry blossoms are at their best and locals and visitors alike flock to see the petals fall to the ground whilst enjoying a picnic. Finally, nearby Sakura is also the name of the beautiful cherry blossoms for which Japan is famous. The area is within easy reach of some of the greater Tokyo area’s best flower and blossom attractions, including Mitaka-shi which hosts an annual cherry blossom festival at Nougyou Kouen Park. Kawaguchi, Tokyo and its surrounds are known worldwide for their “sakura” and the city has numerous different parks at which to view the blossoms in the spring months.
