Sakai is just to the south of Osaka, and offers plenty of things to do along with many flower gardens and floral attractions. The Daisenryo Tomb is perhaps the first place to head, whilst Daisen Park has perhaps the finest collection of flowers in Sakai. And, if you wish to know a bit more about the area then head to the Sakai City Museum, which will give you an overview of the city and the history of the surrounding area. Sakai is also really well situated for checking out the surrounding area, especially for those who want to see flowers and splendid gardens. The Takarazuka Garden fields are the perfect place to explore, or nearer to Osaka you will find the Gardens of Floral Culture. This splendid park has everything the flower lover could wish for, with romantic floral walks and well-tended flower beds stuffed with roses and peonies. There is also a spectacular glasshouse that is designed in the shape of a flower. Elsewhere, the stunning Aramaki Rose Garden is a great place to visit near Sakai, and features thousands upon thousands of roses, making it an especially romantic place to take a stroll. To the north, the Expo 70 Commemorative Park is a popular place to head during the cherry blossom season - the park gets decorated with thousands of lights in the spring and locals and visitors alike stroll around taking in the views. Finally, the fantastic and famous Tsurumi Ryokuchi Park is home to a humongous display of azaleas, colorful tulips and beautiful roses. With so any amazing floral attractions in the area around Sakai it is definitely worth a visit in cherry blossom season or at any time of year!
