The Slough city council is in charge of overseeing and managing more than two hundred and fifty four hectares of children’s play area zones, open green spaces for outdoor sports, and the public parks within the Slough area.
The best known, and premier park in the Slough area is the Salt Hill Park grounds. With well planned and tended formal Edwardian landscaped flower gardens, the Salt Hill Park stands out as an excellent choice for tourists and locals alike. For over one hundred years, the park has been a host to sports, recreation and children’s play zones.
The Salt Hill Park Friends Group works continuously and diligently on the upkeep to maintain the property, keeping the streamside walks and natural areas tidy, attractive and safe. Tennis courts have professional coaches available upon request, and the skateboard area is always a big draw for skateboarders.
As a result of the efforts of the Park Friends Group, Slough has been a winner of the Green Flag Award at the Salt Hill Park.The Green Flag Award scheme is specifically designed to recognise and reward particularly high standards within the maintenance and management of green spaces, flower gardens and public parks in the UK.
