The chrysanthemum is one of the most sought-after flowers in the world, with 40 species scattered across Asia and Europe. Depending on the type, it can reach up to 6 inches by the stem and the flowers can grow 10 inches in diameter. It also happens to be Japan’s national flower. Asters are cousins to the sunflower. Humans have been cultivating and making use of these flowers for 4000 years. One aster may contain 300 smaller flowers at the center and petals. Given to loved ones celebrating their birthdays on September and for the 20th wedding anniversary. Gladiolus reaches up to five feet in height and bloom from July to August. Gifted to people celebrating their birthdays every August as well. In ancient Rome, they were once used to represent Gladiators. Because orchids have the most number of species, Antartica is the only place that they cannot survive on. While they do cling to branches and stems of trees, they are far from parasitic. The Kadulpul orchid only blooms once a year at night and dies before the break of dawn.
