There are plenty of things to do in Omuta, including paying a visit to the interesting Omutashi Zoo and the Greenland Amusement Park. For flower lovers, an easy day trip from Omuta is the stunning Nokonoshima Island Park. This island paradise is teeming with beautiful flowers – over half a million to be precise - including rhododendrons and canola, and is a splendid place at which to spend an afternoon. In the early spring months, the park authorities have the cherry trees lit up in a beautiful display and visitors can join locals as they take part in the popular pastime of cherry blossom viewing. Saigogawa Flower Park is another great place at which to view seasonal flowers near Omuta. These beautiful flower fields burst with cosmos and canolas in the spring. Back in Omuta the Life Extension Park has gorgeous cherry trees as well as azaleas and lots of different species of local and native trees and shrubs.
