Kishiwada boasts a stunning castle that attracts visitors from all over Japan for its beautiful architecture. The city is also blessed with several interesting shrines and temples for those who like to explore the historic side of any Japanese city. Flower lovers visiting Kishiwada will enjoy a walk in the Tombo Ike Park, especially when the roses and hydrangeas are in full bloom, and behind the castle they will find the traditional Japanese Gofusu Garden with its plants, flowers and traditional Japanese shrubs. Not far from Kishiwada lies Wakayama - a nice coastal resort that has an interesting castle, the grounds of which are a favorite place for “hanami” – a Japanese word that means viewing the cherry blossoms. The castle is also a good place to see almost 170 hydrangea planted in a vibrant array of colors and the city is also the place to spot the beautiful peach blossoms in early spring.
