The capital city of Albania, Tirana, has a colorful cultural atmosphere, which reflects the significant economic and political changes that have occurred in the city over the course of only a century. This richness of atmosphere extends to the natural beauty of the city. The red and black poppy, which is Albania’s national flower, can be seen growing throughout the entire city, and Tirana’s Botanical Gardens, which are managed by the University of Tirana, span close to 15 hectares, or around that. The University of Tirana’s Botanical Gardens include close to 2,000 species of plants. The flowers that can be found in these gardens include the poppy, begonias, gentians, and many more.
