Cochabamba, sometimes spelled like Quchapampa, is the fourth largest city in Bolivia. Its name derives from two words: Qucha, which means lake, and Pampa, which means plains. Two common nicknames Cochabamba goes by are “The Garden City” and “The Eternal Spring” because of the beautiful year-round spring-like weather that the city experiences. Naturally, there are also a wide variety of beautiful flowers in the region: delphiniums, heliconias, cantuta flowers, orchids, and hollyhock roses are all common in the area, among many others. It’s not uncommon to see stretches of rainbow baskets as you walk past flower markets in this beautiful city.
