Odense is the third-largest city in Denmark, and has been inhabited by humans for over 4,000 years. The first time the name was mentioned in a text was in the year 988, and less than a hundred years later, in 1070, Odense had grown into a bustling city. Odense is known well for being the city in which the famous fairy tale writer Hans Christian Andersen spent his childhood years. There is even a museum dedicated to him, the Hans Christian Andersen Museum, which is located in the house that Andersen was born in. There are also quite a few statues and sculptures modeled after characters in Andersen’s stories, such as characters from the Steadfast Tin Soldier, the Emperor’s New Clothes, and many others. Numerous old churches in Odense lend to its historical atmosphere, and a variety of museums in Odense display the city’s cultural and historical importance and eccentricities. Every year, Odense hosts the Blomsterfestival, a festival dedicated to flowers, with a different theme for each year. Odense’s streets, walls, posts, businesses, and many other structures are locations are decorated and festooned with a wide variety of flowers, such as roses, lavenders, daisies, sunflowers, tulips, and many, many more. The flowers adorning the streets during the Blomsterfestival and many other kinds of flowers can be sent by us to almost any address in the world, and we can also send flowers of your choice, in beautiful arrangements, to most addresses in Odense.
