It is impossible to see everything in one visit to Germany’s capital city Berlin, but there are a few things that every visitor should see. The Brandenburg Gate is one of the most iconic sites in Berlin, and has stood as an enduring symbol of the city for more than 300 years. The famous cold war era TV tower of Fernsehturm is located in the eastern section of Berlin, and will give visitors a gorgeous view of the entire city. With Berlin’s long history, there are over 200 museums located in the city. The most famous museums are all located on Museum Island, and are a short drive over the Spree River. See the famous Gate of Ishtar from Babylon, and the world’s largest dinosaur skeleton. Visitors can also see the Egyptian queen Nefertiti’s collection along with her bust. Another interesting museum is the Jewish Museum, whose building was designed by the architect Daniel Libeskind. Located between the west and east sides of the city is the infamous Checkpoint Charlie. Visitors can see the museum there and also some of the unique escape vehicles East German residents used to drive across the border. Residents of Berlin love their flowering plants, and once a year the Botanical Gardens holds a lighted night garden party. Visitors can stroll along the magically lit paths, and even see magical creatures among the flowers and plants. During the rest of the year, these gardens are home to several exotic orchids, lilies and roses. A greenhouse protects a large number of both flowering and non flowering succulents, and during the springtime visitors can see all of the altheas (Rose of Sharon) in bloom. Anemones and daisies are also scattered throughout the garden’s walkways. During the Easter season hundreds of Easter lilies burst into bloom, filling the entire park with their heavy fragrance. You can also enjoy the heady scent of lilies year round and we will happily deliver these and other floral arrangements to almost any address in Berlin.
