Az Zarqā’, which is often just referred to as Zarqa (its name meaning “the blue one”) is a city located northeast of Amman, Jordan’s capital. Zarqa is known for being the industrial center of Jordan, with over half of Jordanian factories operating within Zarqa. Zarqa is also known for being an important center of train transport, its historical Hejaz Railway a notable cultural centerpiece of the city .Though Zarqa’s industrial focus and qualities mean it doesn’t have a great deal of flora present, there are a few flowers around certain monuments in the city, such as the black iris, and roses.
