The fourth-largest city of Jordan, Russeifa, is known for being, along with Amman and Zarqa, one of the more significant economic centers of Jordan. Russeifa is known for its role in the phosphate mine industry: since 1935, the Jordan Phosphate Mines company has run the operations in the Phosphate Mines under the city. Russeifa is also notable in the field of dinosaur archaeology: the Arambourgiania dinosaur’s remains have only ever been discovered in Russeifa. Russeifa has a fairly dry climate, but one can still find desert roses, as well as the extremely rare national flower of Jordan, the black iris.
