The gorgeous city of Medellín, the second-largest city in Colombia, is ranked by Indra Sistemas as one of the best cities to live in all of South America, and is considered by many to be one of the most innovative cities in the entire world. In 2013 alone, Medellín won the Veronica Rudge Urbanism Award from Harvard University, and was selected by the United Nations to host UN-Habitat’s 7th World Urban Forum. A very popular tourist location, and an increasingly important global economic sector, Medellín is not exempt from the beautiful natural features that Colombia is so known for. Like most of Colombia, there are multiple variants of orchid in Medellín overall, and there are also a variety of flowers in the city’s botanical gardens. The Joaquin Antonio Uribe Botanical Garden of Medellín, usually just called the Botanical Garden of Medellín, contains over 4500 flowers, and is best known for its “Orchideorama.” The Orchideorama is a canopy made out of a wooden mesh, with ten hexagonal structures that both collect rainwater, and shelter the large collection of orchids as well as a butterfly reserve. Some of the different kinds of orchids available in the breathtaking Medellín Botanical Garden are available to be sent by us to almost any location in Medellín, along with a wide variety of other flowers.
