Barra Del Colorado, extremely isolated and difficult to reach, is located in the extreme northeast of Costa Rica. It is best known for the famous wildlife refuge of the same name nearby nearby. The refuge is the largest in Costa Rica, and some of the fauna visitors to the refuge can see include jaguars, toucans, iguanas, white-faced monkeys, spiders, and even manatees! Barra Del Colorado is also known to be a great place to go fishing. It has been voted one of the top ten places in the world to go fishing, and the Rio Colorado sees a high volume of international visitors that come to throw a line into its waters. Barra Del Colorado, as well as the refuge, is only accessible via boat or plane due to its high degree of isolation. The refuge’s diversity in fauna would lead one to rightfully believe that there’s also much diversity in its flora: heliconia rostrata, Guaria Morada (a purple orchid which is Costa Rica’s national flower), and many more can be found amidst Barra Del Colorado’s lush terrains. These vibrant flowers, as well as many more, can be sent by us to almost any location in the world.
