Al Ahmadi is the capital of the Kuwaiti province of the same name. One of six governorates in Kuwait, Al Ahmadi is known for its economic importance to the nation (many of Kuwait’s oil refineries are located in Al Ahmadi), and it is also known for its distinguished greenery. The Al Ahmadi Zoo and Garden is home to a number of different wildlife, as well as an area for children to play. A variety of palm trees and desert shrubs are planted in Al Ahmadi, and some of the flowers that can be found therein are arfaj (a type of small yellow desert flower), roses, marigolds, and the cistanche desert plants.
