Kaunas is the second largest city in Lithuania, and is known for its vicinity to some important bodies of water. It is located where the Nemunas and the Neris – the two largest rivers in Lithuania – meet, and it’s close to the Kaunas Reservoir, which is the biggest body of water in Lithuania. Over half of the city is occupied by parks, nature reserves, and green zones, and in these places, such as the Kaunas Reservoir Regional Park and the Kaunas Botanical Garden, you can find roses, dahlias, peonies, hostas, rue, asters, and lilies. The mixtures or bright purple, red, blue, and yellow make for an absolutely gorgeous display.
