Klaipėda is a coastal city in the western part of Lithuania. The port of Klaipėda is considered an economically crucial part of the city because it is one of the few ice-free ports in the area, and Klaipėda is also known for the beautiful seaside resorts of Nida and Palanga which are nearby, as well as the Curonian Spit, a sand spit shared by Russia and Lithuania that’s classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The vibrant coastal city has some similarly vibrant flora, and in Klaipėda (especially in Klaipėda University’s Botanical Garden), you can find lilies, rue, papaver, tulips, and even bromeliads.
