Alambra, Cyprus (or Alampra, Cyprus) is a village located about 21 kilometers south of Cyprus’ capital, Nicosia. One of the most striking things about this village is the split between modernity and tradition. One side of the village is built using modern architectural designs, and the other side of the village is built with traditional architecture. Alambra’s history dates back all the way to the Copper Age, and has in recent years been expanding in population. Though still relatively sparse, Alambra’s vicinity to the capital of Nicosia presents many possibilities for flower enthusiasts. Nicosia’s Athalassa Botanical Gardens, containing everything from Cyprus cyclamen to geraniums, is only a short trip from Alambra.
