Not only is Zurich the capital of Switzerland it has also been voted one of the best cities in the world to live in. One of the best ways to see all of the sights in this historic and modern city is by tram, which will take visitors all around the capital city. The Zurich Zoo is a popular attraction and next to it is Flutern Cemetery where visitors can find the gravesite of the famous Irish poet James Joyce. For a glimpse into Zurich’s past, a trip to the Old Town section of the city will take visitors past historic churches with stained glass windows created by artists like Marc Chagall and Sigmar Polke. Also in the Old Town quarter is the Kunsthaus Museum which has the world’s second largest collections of paintings and St Peter’s Church who holds the record for the largest clock face in Europe. The Swiss National Museum is also located in Zurich and visitors are first greeted by the historic yellow coach that was used to cross the Alps during the city’s early days. While the financial district and diamond districts are full of beautifully constructed buildings and monuments, it is the Swiss gardens that can truly draw visitors’ attention. One of the most well known is the Botanical Gardens of Zurich, which are open to the public year round. The complex contains 12 greenhouses, and the gardens also offer gardening courses and floral arrangements for sale. Included in the greenhouses are a rare and diverse collection of fruit trees, along with thousands of flowering plants. In the spring and summer months, the gardens are filled with tulips, roses, mums, daisies, and asters. Easter lilies and several different types of Asiatic lilies can also be found growing around the garden walkways. We will happily deliver tulips, lilies, mums and other flowers to most addresses in Zurich.
