You can use the Saitama area as a base to explore some of the stunning flower and plant displays. Elsewhere but close by you will find the area of Machida which plays host to a yearly Sakura show displaying the beautiful cherry trees and their pink floral petals. The festival also has lots of games for children and food stalls serving delicious traditional food. Elsewhere those who love flowers can visit the delightful Peony Flower Garden which is home to hundreds and hundreds of gorgeous peonies. This is a beautiful place for a walk in the spring and summer months. Nearby Sumida is also within easy reach of Saitama - around a half hour drive - and offers the flower lover a great selection of flower viewings. The Mukojima Hyakkaen Flower Gardens are one such place at which to see flowers and plants, including cherry blossoms, in the spring months. There is so much to see and do around Saitama that you are simply spoiled for choice here, so make sure you take your camera and leave plenty of time to enjoy the gorgeous flowers.
Just north of Tokyo, Saitama is an interesting place to explore and has a little railway museum as well as several interesting shrines. Flower lovers will be enchanted with Saitama, as the area features a hill called the Shibazakura Hill, situated within the Hitsujiyama Park. This hill is absolutely awash with gorgeous pink, white, blue and purple flowers in the spring months and makes for an awesome photograph opportunity. The Saitama Omiya Park in the city is another fun place to explore, especially for those who want to see the beautiful cherry blossoms in full bloom in the spring.
