Kassel, a city located at the centre of Germany, has many outstanding views. This city is all green gardens with mesmerizing display of plants and trees. It seems as if Sun rises and sets differently in this city because all eyes are stuck at one place when there is a sunrise or a sunset.
Among many gardens and parks in the city, botanical garden in the district Wehlheiden of Kassel is enriched with valuable herbs and plants. This garden is found at the edge of Park Schönfeld, north-west of Schlösschen Schönfeld. Botanical gardens in Germany feature a dazzling variety of plant life and you don't have to know about architecture to appreciate the monumental greenhouses.
During the World Wars I and II, it assisted in the vegetable cultivation. Then, was created in 1948/49 as a botanical garden. Furthermore, it was redesigned in 1955 on the occasion of the Federal Horticultural Show. Roses, sunflowers, daffodils, lilies and other magnificent looking flowers add charms to the garden.
Delicate tulips of several hues are seen throughout the garden during their Spring Flower Exhibition. Bunch of orchids, Paphiopedilum Hampshire White Light, the Turkish lily in half shade, the beautiful flowering hibiscus tree, and the gorgeous two-toned lilac trees are seen at various spots in the garden. Other attractions include a rose garden and exotic plants such as banana and palm trees, and fuchsias.
In the west of Kassel city, there is a town called Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Other attractions in the city include Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe, Schloss Wilhelmshöhe, Wasserspiele, Hercules Monument, Löwenburg, Karlsaue, Orangerie, Marmorbad (Marble Baths), Documenta, Fridericianum, Grimmwelt Kassel, Markthalle Kassel, Ottoneum, and Stadtmuseum.
