Sagamihara Blomst Levering (Florist)

About an hour from Tokyo, Sagamihara is an interesting place to visit and is often used as a base for exploring Mount Takao. For those that want to check out some parks and flowers when in Sagamihara, head to nearby Machida and look out for the municipal flower - the gorgeous scarlet sage. Machida is a great spot for the flower lover and if you are lucky enough to be in Sagamihara in the spring months during cherry blossom season you are in for a real treat! The annual Sakura Festival is perhaps the highlight of the year in Machida when the cherry blossoms are falling and the tress are lit up at nights. Held at Ridge City Park at the peak of the blooming season, this is a favorite event for locals and visitors alike. If you cannot make it during the Sakura Festival never worry, for there is a beautiful peony garden here too which has hundreds of gorgeous peonies. Nearby you can also find the Yakushiike Park with is bursting with flowers as well. At an hour from Tokyo, Sagamihara offers the visitor the perfect location from which to explore the wider Tokyo area. Meguro is also just a stone’s throw away - here you absolutely need to take a stroll down the banks of the river as the flowers fall from the cherry blossom trees. Nearby the Meguro Sky Garden is full of interesting flowers and plants, as well as a pleasant gardens in which to stroll. Sagamihara is near also to the townland of Shinagawa, which offers a beautiful cherry blossom festival where locals come from near and far to see the pink flowers falling to the ground from the trees. Also nearby is Sakura - from which the word cherry blossom in Japanese is named - which holds its own fabulous cherry blossom flower festival.
