Situated about one hour west of megacity Toronto, Kitchener is a fine place to explore if you wish to get out of the big city. Visit the historic Joseph Schneider House, the local museum (called funnily enough THE MUSEUM) or people watch at Kitchener City Hall. The Waterloo Regional Museum is also a great place to head if you love exploring the local history of an area. Rockway Gardens is one of the best places to see flowers in Kitchener, with beautifully tended beds and manicured lawns providing a burst of color. Victoria Park is another great park, with handsome flower and plant arrangements around some pleasant walkways. Victoria Park is also host to a number of exciting events in the summer months which sees locals descend to this park and take in the entertainment. Kitchener City is also surrounded by excellent walking trails that extend for miles, beautiful picnic spots where you can see natural flowers bloom in the early spring, and plenty of little Mennonite farms at which you can stop and buy some of the natural freshly cut wildflowers that grow in the local area.
