Halle is a beautiful city located in the south of country, just near Leipzig, which makes the city active in industrial and commercial activities and is blessed with abundant greenery and cheer. It came into existence in 1945, as a result of World War II. Halle holds great historical importance as well holding the honour of being the birthplace of George Frideric Handel, a baroque composer and witnessing one of Martin Luther king’s thundering speeches held in a Catholic church named Marktkirche Unser Lieben Frauen. It is now one of the major tourist attractions in the country.

• You can find all the floral splendor at the botanical gardens of the Martin Luther University. You are welcome to visit garden from the beginning of April until the end of October. The garden is closed for the visit during the winter season.

Halle is also rich in agricultural and industrial aspects since it is a fertile terrain which makes it a very important rail junction. It deals in sugar refining, machine building, food processing, brewing, distilling, and the manufacture of motor and chemical products. Halle also mines sizable deposits of lignite (brown coal), rock salt, and potash.
