Located on the outskirts of Montreal, Laval offers great access to the more popular Montreal attraction, and some interesting things to see and do in its own right. Take the kids to Space Camp Canada for a ride in an actual spaceship or explore the beautiful Centre de la Nature Park, a great place to see some lovely flowers and well planned gardens. Don’t forget to head to one of the local open farms to pick your own fruits and berries, or let the kids try indoor skydiving. Being so close to Montreal means you can also check out some of the parks and gardens nearby - the splendid Botanic Gardens of Montreal make for a good start. Boasting a whopping ten greenhouses and conservatories, the gardens are a wonderful place to explore. There are over 20,000 different species of plants here, Chinese and Japanese Gardens, and a splendid Rose Garden. To purchase some locally grown flowers, head to Marche Atwater, and for a stroll in a more informal garden head to Parc Maisonneuve. If you are lucky enough to be in Montreal in the spring then you are in for a real treat as cherry blossom season gets underway! The Botanical Gardens have beautiful trees, but if you have already seen those then check out Île De La Visitation or the Palais Des Congrès as well for stunning displays of the pink stuff.
