Those who would like to see flowers and open green spaces in Ichinomiya should head to 138 Tower Park during the spring – the cherry blossoms on display are truly marvelous. During the year, 138 Tower Park also boasts stunning displays of over four thousand roses in its rose garden, as well as beautiful displays of poppies and tulips. Another great place to stroll in the springtime is the bank of the Kiso River, especially during the cherry blossom festival. Over four hundred cherry trees of different sorts line the banks of the river. The sight of the beautiful pink blossoms are a wonder, especially in late March and early April. Ichinomiya is a mere 30 minutes from Gifu City. A visit to Gifu is a great day trip - Gifu Park for example has an interesting array of plants and flowers, and of course the nation’s beloved cherry trees! This park is also host to the Chrysanthemum Flower show with its beautifully decorated chrysanthemum dolls and gorgeous fountain adorned with flowers on either side– an absolute must see in Gifu if you are in the city in late autumn.
