Not a traditional tourist destination, Milton is a great base from which to explore Toronto's many attractions. The area itself is more suburban than anything, but for the lower lover there are a number of woodlands and trails that can be explored, especially if you are on the lookout for wildflowers. Use Ajax as a base to check out Toronto's best sights, including of course the CN Tower. The St Lawrence Food Market is another favorite hot spot - Nat Geo in fact once called it the best food market in the world. Come here to try weird and wonderful local foods and pick up fresh cut flowers, fruit and vegetables. If you are on the lookout for some greenery then Trinity Bellwoods Park is a good place to start and offers visitors a peaceful place for a stroll or perhaps even the chance to stop and have a picnic. If you are on the lookout for flowers in Toronto then head to the Toronto Botanical Garden. This isn't the biggest Botanic Garden we have ever seen, however it is one of the best. The gardens are an oasis in the city and span over four acres. Check out the woodland walk which will take you through a bunch of native wildflower trails. There is a section dedicated also to native grasses and shrubs, as well as a lovely meadow with native plants and greens. There are wonderful manicured lawns and hedges and formal flowerbeds. The Botanic Gardens also put on flower growing workshops throughout the year so you can try your hand at learning how to grow some of Canada's native flowers back home when you return! Check it out!
