Steglitz may not come up on many tour itineraries for those paying a visit to Berlin, but it certainly is worth a stop. This neighborhood has the Fliegeberg which celebrates the origins of flight, and is home to the Schlosspark Theatre. If you are on the lookout for flowers when in Berlin then the obvious choice is the world famous Botanic Gardens and their many splendid attractions. There are over twenty thousand different plants and flowers on display at this fantastic flower garden, so professional gardeners and casual alike will be in awe of all there is on offer to view here. There are sections dedicated to plants from all over the world and a tropical greenhouse. And if that is not enough there is also a museum on site which specializes in botany. Elsewhere in Berlin the Tiergarten is another favorite spot at which to see flowers. This huge forested area is known by locals as Berlin’s lung and is a great place at which to spend a few hours in the summer months, enjoying a picnic and taking in the views of the plants and trees. You may be surprised to discover also that Berlin is a great place to take in cherry blossoms in the early spring. The city planted hundreds of the trees along the lines of the former Berlin wall after reunification, and now they are simply glorious in the spring months. Head to the Glienicke Bridge or Bornholmer Street for some of the best.
