In Ipswich the ActivGardens blossom with flowers, fresh food, healthy people, community and new friends!

Residents of Ipswich who love to work together outside in the fresh air are getting involved at ActivGardens. Some work as a volunteer every day, and others only for a few hours a week. It is all about being able to get out of doors, grow plants, get involved and get more fit and healthy.

The gardens are all about having a choice of volunteer activities, too. You can be involved in events or get your hands dirty taking care of plants.

Two Sites in Ipswich

There are two different locations in south western Ipswich to volunteer, depending on your preferences. The Chantry Walled Garden is in Chantry Park. The People’ Community Garden is on the Maidenhall Allotments. You can also choose to work in the community growing project in different areas around Ipswich and Suffolk.

You can take your pick of activities, too. Be involved with the beekeepers. You can build DIY projects in the ActivShed. Help out in the plant nursery or the garden centre or spend time in the cafe, marketplace or the community kitchen. You can even teach others about what you have learnt about flowers and gardens.
