Santiago de Guayaquil, commonly known just as Guayaquil, is Ecuador’s biggest and most populated city. In recent years, Guayaquil’s local government has been making extensive efforts to regenerate and revitalize the city in order to attract tourism. Some of the changes included in this were making the public transportation system more efficient, reconstructing parks, sewers, and sidewalks, and many more. Additionally, Ecuador is known for its art and artists, and many were born in Guayaquil. Guayaquil’s Botanical Gardens, located at the top of Cerro Colorado, showcase much of Guayaquil’s beauty and diversity. The gardens have 324 different species of plants, and are split into three different sections. Some of the flowers in the gardens are: orchids, roses, tillandsias, and bromeliads.
