It is worth the trip 5 miles from the centre of York to check out the massive grounds, the cozy cafe and the on site nursery that specialises in over 1500 different flowering and herbal perennials, sold at really reasonable prices.

Well Planned and Themed Flowers

This well planned and tended vibrant series of themed gardens host vibrant water features and over 6,000 kinds of flowers, shrubs, trees and plants. The planning is so well done that the flower borders around the walkways bloom with different flowers from May all the way until the end of September every year.

Early in the summer, in May and June, the Pond and Shade Garden will showcase the majestic peony and demure iris flower collections. Each month different flowers are taking centre stage until the end of the summer when the spectacular grasses take their autumn bows.

The Breezy Knees Gardens are really an unexpected treasure. You can easily spend a half a day swooning over the riot of colours in the themed gardens, and stopping for a nice cuppa in the cafe. Highly recommended.
